In Curacao cleared land will be immediately colonized by thorny Wabi trees (Acacia Tortuosa) trying their utmost to bring in more energy and biomass. Usually, when the wabi trees have accumulated enough energy, they should be succeeded by trees that demand better quality. But for some reason this has not been happening. Greening the desert Curacao is a project that aims to speed up that succession by pruning the wabi trees to bring in a lot more biomass for the fruit trees as shown in this video.
