About organization

Image
In 2016 I started in the drought stricken island of Curacao to create food forest. Because of the success of the first food forest I was offered a job by the minister of agriculture (GMN) Suzy Carmelia Romer to create educational demonstration food forests. In 2019 I organized for the ministry a 5 days intensive course syntropic agroforestry, to be followed a year later by another beginners and an advanced course. As a way of thanking me for my contribution in the syntropic food forest revolution I was sent to Kenya where Willis Orum organized the first course in Kenya to be followed by many more courses.

Impacts

Syntropic Agroforestry bridges the gap between ecology and economy. It makes reforestation very attractive for farmers and thus increases the survival rate for planted trees drastically. As we say the vegetables finance the forest of the future.

Summary

Syntropic and Permaculture Solutions is dedicated to regenerate our beautiful earth and make it bountiful again as how it used to be. We are guided by our syntropic understanding that nature always moves forward in successive stages from entropy to syntropy, from simple to complex. It is our duty as mankind to accelerate those processes to restore what has been damaged while bridging the gap between ecology and economy. I provide trainings and consultancy to align people with natural regenerative knowledge that once was ours already.

Roland has published a guide on syntropic agroforestry. All proceeds from the sale of this book go towards supporting Samburu women of Umoja in Kenya that Roland has previously supported through training.

Crowdfunding Campaign

This crowdfunding campaign aims to raise $5,000 to support the work of combating climate change and environmental degradation in Kenya through sustainable agriculture practices. The funds will be used to purchase a used four-wheel drive vehicle ($4,000) and build a small natural house ($1,000) on a 3.5-acre parcel of land in Kitui County. This land will serve as both a home and a demonstration food forest farm and training site. The project focuses on "planting water" and implementing Syntropic Agroforestry methods to regreen desert areas, create food forests, and train local communities, youth, and practitioners. This project aims to create a more sustainable and abundant landscape in Kenya's dry regions, addressing the urgent need for ecological restoration and food security in the face of climate change.
